About the role


Position: Lead Source to Pay / Contract Manager (Product: Nitrate)
Reports to: LATAM Sourcing Manager and Global Sr. Manager of Nitrogen (functional report)
Base: Santiago (Chile), Lima (Peru) or Sao Jose dos Campos (Brazil)

As a Lead Source to Pay on the Regional Supply Team, your role would involve collaborating with various departments within the organization to understand their requirements and develop sourcing strategies that align with company goals, executing according to plan, negotiating contracts, tracking results, driving continuous improvement while also reducing the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and ensuring security of supply and reliability. The ideal candidate will possess strategic thinking, strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and be able to work in and be able to work in teams across different areas.

What you will be doing

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, and delivery of goods
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers through market research, requests for proposal (RFPs), and supplier audits
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, executing end-to-end sourcing process ensuring the outcomes meet or exceed business requirements and are fully aligned with Group Standards; prepares, distributes, collates and analyses RFx processes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, and continuously monitor supplier performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Orica key stakeholders to ensure sourcing strategies align with business objectives and requirements, fostering an environment of working together to deliver the best overall outcome for the business
  • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and implement improvement plans where necessary
  • Maintain a deep understanding of current suppliers, contracts and compliance with contractual clauses and obligations. Conducts scenario, should cost, benchmark and/or other types of analysis.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices related to sourcing and procurement
  • Improving overall Regional competitiveness by reducing Total Cost of Ownership while at the same time ensuring security of supply and reliability.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation solutions with key suppliers.
  • Maintains all relevant master data related to sourcing activities into Ariba SAP
  • Support the resolution of supply chain risk events and quality
  • Lead sourcing and multidisciplinary projects

Your qualifications

  • Fertiliser, Chemical, Trader or Mining segments
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the Amonium Nitrate end to end value chain and Global market
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Chemistry or Business-related discipline
  • 7+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, marketing or commercial
  • Business acumen and market intelligence skills
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with critical suppliers and stakeholders both in Latinamerica and overseas
  • Excellent analytical, financial and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • English and Spanish are essentials, and Portuguese would be a differential
